A special treat during these cooler months is the local Stump Sound oysters that are usually pretty plentiful around Topsail Island. Steam them and serve with your spicy cocktail sauce or a few drops of Tabasco.
Islanders look forward to sharing them with friends. A good bottle of pinot grigio and the heat from an outdoor cooker warms up a cool winter or early spring evening. Hungry yet?
